Police have declined to name those arrested, citing ongoing investigation. Singh, who worked for Radio Today, was murdered by an armed group in her residence, Sunday.
While the entire Janakpur town is still stunned and mourning the young journalist´s murder, another journalist Manika Jha has also received death threats reportedly from the same armed group that murdered Singh.
Chief District Officer of Dhanusha district Shambhu Koirala said in Janakpur that the local administration would implement a security protection for journalists after consulting the latter.
Meanwhile, government-owned Nepal TV said that one Swami Yadav of Tarai Ekta Parishad called its Siraha correspondent to own responsibility of the killing. Singh reportedly said that their men had "mistakenly" killed Singh when they had gone to punish" the corrupt people".
