The CIAA raided the airport office and seized the documents related to the airport improvement work after Shambhu Construction that is awarded with the contract for the work demanded an additional Rs 160 million to complete the work.
CIAA spokesperson Ishwari Prasad Poudel said irregularities have been suspected after the government released an additional Rs 60 million to the contractor even though technicians had assessed that only Rs 7 million were sufficient to complete the work.
