Dashain Bazaar at DECC from Oct 8

KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Direction Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) is organizing fifth edition of Dashain Bazaar at DECC, Tripureshwar from Thursday.

The five-day fair is expected to be a one stop shopping destination for festive shoppers, according to officials of DECC. The event is being organized in coordination of United World Trade Center (UWTC), Tripureshwar.[break]

The bazaar will have more than 70 stalls of home appliances, fashion wears, garments, handicrafts, furniture and food commodities. Other attractions of the fair include Nawa Durga Puja souvenirs, cosmetics, herbal products, paints, books and stationeries, and stalls of food and beverage manufacturers.

Chitra Poudel, coordinator of the event, said customers can get quality products at affordable prices at the Dashain Bazaar. “The event will save time, as people can find everything they need for Dashain under one roof,” he added.

“Though the event, exhibitors can get long term benefits as they get to deal directly with the consumers. Buyers will also be benefited as they can get products and services at a nominal price in one place directly from the service providers.”

The event will also have exhibitors from Bangladesh and Pakistan. “Exhibitors of Bangladesh and Pakistan will have ten stalls,” said Poudel, adding that products at the event will be priced between Rs 25 and Rs 100,000.

Meanwhile, DECC and UWTC are also organizing Carpet Mega Sale 2012 on the sidelines of Dashain Bazaar. The event is being organized to promote locally manufactured hand-knitted carpet.

Trailokyashwar Malla, managing director of DECC, said at the event people can directly deal with four leading carpet manufacturers in the country. “People can get carpets at cheaper price as they can buy carpets directly from the manufacturers,” he added.

At the event, price of carpets will range from Rs 2,500 to 3,000 per square meter. The event is expected to draw around 20,000 visitors.
