Former NPC Vice Chairman Shakya dies of COVID-19

KATHMANDU, Nov 26: Former Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission Dr Rabindra Kumar Shakya has died of COVID-19.

KATHMANDU, Nov 26: Former Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission Dr Rabindra Kumar Shakya has died of COVID-19.



Shakya passed away at about 4 am Thursday while undergoing treatment at Nepal Medicity Hospital in Kathmandu, according to his family sources. He was appointed as Vice Chairman of the NPC in 2070 BS.

Shakya was serving as president of Shakya Foundation and SHALOM Club Nepal. Embassy of Israel in Kathmandu on Thursday said it is saddened to learn about the untimely demise of Dr Shakya. The embassy also expressed condolence to the bereaved family.
