JHAPA, June 13: Bhagawad Geeta, the popular Hindu scripture, has been translated into Rajbanshi language for the first time. Pawan Rajbanshi , a media person from Jhapa, translated all 18 chapters of the Geeta into his mother tongue.
“The Geeta is more a philosophy of life than a religious document. I hope that our community which is backward from all angles will receive some guidelines from my translation,” says Rajbanshi, a journalist with Kanchanjungha FM.
Around 300,000 Rajbanshis live in Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari and the Geeta, which is priced at Rs 150, will definitely be popular among them, Rajbanshi says.
