It is a three-hour daily session that will be held at Freedom House; House No 416 of Min Bhavan at Kharibot, Kathmandu.[break]
Workshop coordinator Govinda Siwakoti says, “This workshop will teach participants basic filmmaking skills, film appreciation and analysis and shooting ethics.”
A closing ceremony of the workshop will be held at the Movie Club with the screening of all the best films made by participants during the workshop.
Topics include story selection, planning, camera technique, conceptualization, development, scriptwriting, direction, cinema psychology, shooting, and editing short films.
Hands-on approach will be emphasized, and by the end of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to produce a short film on a best story selected from the idea market.
This workshop aims at participants from college-level students and young people. No prior filmmaking experience is required. Enrolment is limited to18 participants on first-come-first basis.
Resource persons for the seminar are Manoj Pandit on cinema as an art form, and cinema psychology; Abinash Bikram Shah on script, and screenplay writings; and Gopal Shivakoti on editing, and On!on Films.
All applicants must bring DSLR/Digital still compact cameras or any video cameras.
Registration fee is Rs 1,500 which includes references notes, books, films, tea/coffee and certificate.
Deadline is till the end of February.
