At the programme organized by the Nepali Writers Association, President Koirala said he felt proud at the energy added to the people´s movement in the historic 2006 movement by Mukarung´s poems.

On the occasion, Koirala urged the literary figures to contribute to the country, democracy, stability and development through their writings.

Likewise, Koirala said that the Constituent Assembly (CA) election would be held in the slated time as the people and neighboring countries also have wished for timely election in Nepal.

"CA election should not be deferred at any cost. None should doubt the timely election as it is for peace, strengthening democracy and maintaining stability in the country."

On the occasion, poet Mukarung said that he joined the NC being influenced by the writers´ freedom as outlined by the late Nepali Congress leader BP Koirala.

"Now, all castes, regions and classes are raising voice for their identity. I was lost somewhere during my three decades of writing. I have joined the NC with the confidence of getting my identity," Mukarung said.
