A joint team of wildlife experts from Nepal, America, Canada and Turkey spotted the omnivores animals. They were seen sleeping in Bante trees in Hagethan Community Forest and in Seti Gada trees in Surke National Forest, said Finju Shepa of Herbs Production and Conservation Organisation, who was also in the team.
Habitat destruction and poaching for their fur are threats to the survival of the Red panda. Red pandas live at an altitude between 6,000 and 12,000 feet in mixed deciduous forests with a dense canopy and bamboo understory. They forage on the ground in nights and sleep in trees during daytime.
