Standard Chartered to use digital signature

KATHMANDU, April 6: Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited (SCBNL) and Nepal Certifying Company (NCC) have signed an agreement to deliver Digital Signature and Certificate (DSC) to the bank.



Issuing a statement on Wednesday, SCBNL said that it would be the first commercial bank in Nepal to use the digital signature and certificate.

Gorakh Rana, Head of Commercial Banking and International Clients at the SCBNL and Biplav Man Sigh, Chairman of NCC, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective companies.


"Standard Chartered Nepal is scheduled to implement DSC in phases for authentication of communication/documents originating from its client's, the scope of which will depend on the regulatory provisions," reads the statement.
