Police have taken 22 inmates into custody following renewed unrest inside Siraha Prison. The action was carried out this morning after the group allegedly tried to take control of the prison’s internal administration.  

The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Ujjwal Sayar of Punarbas-5. He was attacked with a knife on his chest following a dispute among youths who had been at Bhanubasti to attend a wedding ceremony. 

The programmes aimed at keeping humans safe and wildlife conserved. Public awareness rally, lecture, discussion and jungle safari were held as part of the weeklong observation.  

Issuing a notice, the DoTM said that licenses which had been pending for a long time due to printing delays are now being printed and dispatched to the concerned transport offices. 

Nepali Congress (NC) is preparing to establish a “Leadership Academy” aimed at institutionalising political training within the party and reshaping how future leaders are selected and prepared for public office.

According to General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, the party has designated 11 lawmakers in Koshi Province, two in Madhesh, two in Bagmati, three in Gandaki, five in Lumbini, 11 in Karnali, and six in Sudurpashchim.

The government has formed a committee to recommend candidates for chairperson of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), following the resignation by the SEBON’s former chairperson Santosh Narayan Shrestha.

The petition argues that Lamichhane, who is facing charges related to cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering, should be barred from performing his duties as a Member of Parliament until the final verdict of the cases.

Basnet’s demand comes amid growing calls for investigation following the public release of documents showing Gurung’s alleged shareholding in Star Micro Insurance, a company linked to businessman Deepak Bhatt.

According to District Police Range Lalitpur, Pathak was taken into custody on Tuesday.
