KATHMANDU, Sept 21: Monetary contributions to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund have continued to be made in the aftermath of the floods that struck the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli river system on August 26.
Around Rs 15 billion has so far been collected in the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Rescue Fund and the Prime Minister Relief Fund, both operated by the government. According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the combined balance in the two funds presently stands at Rs 14 billion 889 million 38 thousand and 871.

The government has already disbursed Rs 1 billion from the collected funds to support the people from the flood-affected areas.
According to the office, Rs 11 billion 142 million 50 thousand and 947 has been deposited in the Funds' bank accounts at nine commercial banks, while US$ 24 million 474 thousand and 121 is held in dollar accounts at Himalayan Bank and Laxmi Sunrise Bank.
