KATHMANDU, Sept 21: The House of Representatives on Sunday passed the National Service Corps Bill, 2083.
A proposal seeking approval of the bill, presented by Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam on behalf of the Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, was passed unanimously.
Six bills tabled in National Assembly
Presenting the bill, Minister Gautam said extensive discussions on the legislation had previously taken place in the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee.
She said specific criteria had been established for students wishing to undergo the training and highlighted that the bill includes provisions prioritizing training opportunities for students from remote and inaccessible areas.
Earlier, lawmakers participated in deliberations on the bill and expressed their views.
The next meeting of the House of Representatives is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday.
