KATHMANDU, Nov 22: Minister for Urban Development Kulman Ghising, has stressed the need for effective sewage management in the urban areas across the country.
Ghising, who is also Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation as well as Physical Infrastructure and Transport, during an inspection of the Jambudanda area in Gokarneshwor Municipality–5 along the Guheshwori–Gokarna corridor on Saturday morning, highlighted the importance of upgrading the sewage network, improving the condition of the roadway, and maintaining cleanliness in the surrounding settlements and riverbanks.

A clean river system, he noted, is essential for the overall hygiene and livability of the capital.
The Minister said efforts are already underway and pledged further action, adding that the government is also working to create small artificial ponds in the area to enhance its natural beauty.
