KATHMANDU, Jan 13: President Ram Chandra Paudel has visited the federal parliament building, which is under construction in the Singha Durbar complex.
During the visit, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dev Raj Ghimire, and the Chairman of the National Assembly, Narayan Dahal, were also present.
Gopal Sigdel, secretary of the Ministry of Urban Development informed President Paudel about the progress in building construction. At the same time, Paudel inquired about the building and also directed the concerned parties to complete the tasks as soon as possible.
Helipad to be constructed inside Singha Durbar
A grand structure has been constructed consisting of 12 blocks, including both houses of the federal parliament, the House of Representatives and the National Assembly, parliamentary committees, and the offices of parliamentary parties.
The House of Representatives and the National Assembly will be located in 45 percent of the area spread over 173 ropanis.
Since 2064, the government has been renting the International Conference Centre in Baneshwor and using it as the Parliament building as there was no federal parliament building.
