KATHMANDU, April 21: A partial influence of westerly local winds, along with a low-pressure system near eastern Nepal, is currently affecting the country. Due to this, the Himalayan region is expected to remain generally cloudy.

According to the weather bulletin issued by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, hilly and Tarai areas of Koshi Province, as well as other hilly regions, will see partly cloudy conditions, while the remaining Tarai areas are expected to have mainly clear weather. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall or snowfall with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the Himalayan region.
The bulletin also states that hot conditions are likely in the Tarai region and valleys of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Additionally, a heatwave is likely in the Tarai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.
For tonight, the Himalayan region is expected to remain partly cloudy, while the hilly and Tarai regions will mostly experience clear weather. There is also a chance of light rainfall or snowfall at one or two places in the Himalayan areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
