BHAKTAPUR, March 13: The 14 exit points on the six-lane Tinkune-Suryabinayak Highway, originally meant for petrol pumps, are going to be closed down.

The exit points from the main road had been kept open at the request of the petrol pump owners, but will now be closed down as they are against the road agreement, according to Chief of the Road Construction Project, Saroj Pradhan.[break]

Such points on the 9.1 kilometer road need to be closed down also because it increases the possibility of road accident, Pradhan said.

Vehicles can use the service track on both the sides of the main road to reach to the petrol pumps.

However, the petrol pump proprietors have however protested against the decision to close down the exit points.

They have also registered their protest at the Department of Roads
