KATHMANDU, May 30: Police have arrested 35 individuals from different parts of the country on charges of possessing illegal narcotics.
According to Nepal Police's Central News Desk, the arrests were made in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Jhapa, Bardiya, Sunsari, Kanchanpur, Nuwakot, and Siraha.

In Kathmandu, two people were arrested from Gongabu in Tokha Municipality-9 with a substance suspected to be brown sugar. In Jhapa, two people were arrested from Gaurigunj Rural Municipality-2, one from the old Mechi Bridge in Mechinagar Municipality-6, and two from Kanchanjangha Tole in Birtamod Municipality-4.
In Bhaktapur, one person was arrested from Katunje Chowk in Suryabinayak Municipality-5, another from Bode in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-9, and one resident originally from Jumla who was living in a rented room in Radhe Radhe, Madhyapur Thimi-5.
Similarly, one person was arrested from Kothiyaghat Bridge in Rajapur Municipality-10 of Bardiya. In Sunsari, six people were arrested from Thakurbari in Barahakshetra Municipality-6, three from Bus Chowk in Inaruwa Municipality-4, two from Sombare in Barahakshetra Municipality-7, one from Adarsha Nagar in Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-13, five from Pakali in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-17, and one more from Itahari-17, according to local police.
In Kanchanpur, three people were arrested from Amarbasti Masanghat in Punarbas Municipality-11. Two were arrested from Baghtar in Bidur Municipality-9 of Nuwakot, while one person was arrested from Gumbatol in Golbazar Municipality-6 of Siraha.
Police said further investigation into the cases is underway.
