KATHMANDU, Aug 28: A total of 2,381 people, including 644 foreign nationals, are unaccounted for following the devastating Bhotekoshi flash flood in Rasuwa, according to police. Similarly, 127 Nepali citizens who had returned to Nepal from abroad for travel are also out of contact.
Of the 644 foreign nationals reported missing following the devastating flood, 178 are Indians. The missing foreigners also include 65 US citizens, 53 Ukrainians, 51 Malaysians, 35 Australians, 33 Britons, 25 Canadians, nine Singaporeans, eight Germans, eight Russians, six South Africans, six Latvians, five Japanese, five New Zealanders, four French nationals, three Belgians and three Spaniards.

According to police, two citizens each from Kazakhstan, Portugal, Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands, and one citizen each from Sweden, Hungary, Serbia, Switzerland, Israel, the Philippines, Finland, Belarus, Lithuania and Bulgaria are also out of contact.
Similarly, police said 1,737 Nepali citizens from outside Rasuwa are missing following the disaster. Of them, 132 are from Koshi Province, 128 from Madhesh Province, 826 from Bagmati Province (excluding Rasuwa), 126 from Gandaki Province, 188 from Lumbini Province, 208 from Karnali Province and 129 from Sudurpaschim Province.
So far, a total of 1,545 people have been rescued, including 644 in Rasuwa, 898 in Nuwakot and three in Dhading, Nepal Police spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police Abhinarayan Kafle said.
