"The combatants should be queued up and their allowances should be distributed in person," Rawal said at a function.
He said, the government came up with a conclusion that even the verified Maoist combatants have deserted the cantonments after finding a reduced number of disqualified combatants during their discharge a few weeks ago.
"The government can´t release money for those who have already deserted the cantonments," he said. He said if the Maoists fail to make the combatants queue up for the allowance, they wouldn´t receive the money from now on.
"Distributing the money from the state coffers without concrete evidence of recipient can later be proved as an embezzlement," he added. He claimed that the government has a valid reason to demand the real number of PLA combatants from the UNMIN. He was of the view that disclosing the number of PLA combatants doesn´t violate any confidentiality.
