LAHAN, Dec 28: An elderly woman died after a fire broke out in a shed in Bode Barsain Rural Municipality-4, Silhat village of Saptari on Tuesday night.
The District Police Office of Saptari has informed Republica that 80-year-old Mukti Raut (Pal) died when the fire broke out in the shed where she was sleeping. It is learnt that she left the burning fire to avoid the cold while sleeping .

Similarly, 25-year-old Dharmadev Pal, grandson of the deceased Raut, was injured in the fire. The police said that two livestocks in the shed were also burnt to death due to the fire.
