The doctors had advised Yasakta Singh, the nephew of the deceased, to take her out of Saptari for treatment. Issuing a condolence message, Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has expressed deep sorrow over her demise.
"Singh´s death has caused irreparable loss to the movement of women rights and liberation in the Tarai region," the prime minister said. She was 85.
Anandi and Gajendra Narayan Singh fought for the Madhes cause lifelong.
