KATHMANDU, Oct 12: The government has withdrawn Armed Police Force (APF) personnel deployed to guard the CPN-UML central office, the party said on Monday.
According to UML Publicity Department Chief Niraj Acharya, all security personnel deployed at the office left on Monday morning, but the party has not received any formal notice from the government.

“ No formal letter has been received by the office. Five to six security personnel had been deployed here, and they left on their own this morning,” Acharya said, adding that the party was unaware of the reason for their withdrawal.
The government has not publicly commented on the withdrawal.
Armed Police Force personnel had previously been providing security at the UML central office. Following their departure, the party has begun discussions on how to manage security at the premises, Acharya said.
The move has also raised questions about the security arrangements the government provides to political party offices.
