KATHMANDU, Sept 14: A total of 1,390 bodies had been recovered by 5 a.m. Monday following the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.
According to information released by the Nepal Police, 186 bodies were recovered in Rasuwa, 202 in Nuwakot, 71 in Dhading, 364 in Chitwan, 77 in Gorkha, 38 in Tanahun, 230 in Nawalparasi East and 222 in Nawalparasi West.

A total of 1,230 bodies have so far been managed after completing the necessary procedures, including the collection of DNA samples for identification. A total of 3,132 DNA samples have been collected, including 1,286 samples from the deceased and 1,846 from their relatives.
Details of 1,354 unidentified bodies have also been uploaded to the Nepal Police website to assist with identification.
So far, 7,975 police personnel have been deployed in the flood-affected areas for rescue, search operations, relief distribution and the management of recovered bodies.
Search efforts are continuing for 4,089 people who remain missing. Meanwhile, 2,781 people are being accommodated at holding centres in various districts.
