KATHMANDU, Sept 8: The United States government has appointed Megan Bouldin as Chargé d’Affaires in Nepal for the next few months to support ongoing flood response and recovery efforts, with a particular focus on assisting US citizens affected by the devastating Rasuwa floods.
According to the US Embassy in Kathmandu, Bouldin will provide surge support as Chargé d’Affaires and work alongside Deputy Chief of Mission Scott Urbom to lead the embassy’s efforts in supporting Nepal’s relief and recovery operations.

Bouldin joins the US Embassy in Nepal from the US Embassy in Dhaka, where she has served as Deputy Chief of Mission since August 2024. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, she brings extensive experience in crisis management, diplomacy and leadership, having served in Ukraine, Iraq, Bangladesh and the Operations Center in Washington, DC.
“Her assignment reflects the United States’ sustained commitment to working closely with the Government of Nepal and partners as relief and recovery efforts continue,” the US Embassy said in a statement.
