Budhigandaki flood leaves Manaslu Circuit trekkers stranded

The flood swept away motorable and suspension bridges at several locations and blocked roads, leaving trekkers unable to continue their journeys.

GORKHA, Oct 11: Tourists trekking the Manaslu Circuit have been stranded after flooding in the Budhigandaki River washed away bridges and blocked roads, disrupting travel routes.



The flood swept away motorable and suspension bridges at several locations and blocked roads, leaving trekkers unable to continue their journeys.


The Budhigandaki River flooded on Sunday morning, causing extensive damage to riverside areas of Gorkha and Dhading districts.

The flood washed away six bridges and left at least 10 people missing.


It also swept away around 35 houses in Paiyun and Bagar in Chumnubri Rural Municipality-3. The flood caused further damage in Jagat, Salleri, Dobhan and Ghattikhola villages.
