Two Indian nationals killed in Kathmandu bus accident

The bus driver, 35-year-old Man Bahadur Basnet, a resident of Kapun originally from Dolakha, has been taken into police custody.

KATHMANDU, March 21: A bus accident in Bhotebahal, Kathmandu, has claimed the lives of two Indian nationals.



According to SP Nareshraj Subedi, spokesperson of the Valley Traffic Police Office, the victims— 45-year-old Padam Upadhyay and 37-year-old Satish Kumar Kushwaha—were struck by an Om Janata Transport bus traveling from Kalimati toward Tripureshwor in Kathmandu Metropolitan City–12, Bhotebahal.

The bus, bearing number Ba Pra–3–01–005 Kha 9298, left the victims seriously injured. They later succumbed to their injuries at the National Trauma Center on Friday night, Subedi said.


The bus driver, 35-year-old Man Bahadur Basnet, a resident of Kapun originally from Dolakha, has been taken into police custody. The Kalimati Police Circle is investigating the incident, Subedi added.
