In the high altitude in the Himalayas in the Tibet, Bhutan and in Nepal, this festival is celebrated on the 10th day of the 5th month. But as it is too hot in the plains, the dance is performed here on the 10th day of the second month

While the monks are dancing, they are supposed to visualize themselves like the deities of the mandala. So there are different steps like blessing the ground, calling the shower of blessing from all the Buddhas, asking for dispelling all obstacles then they are cutting an effigy that personifies the ego, attachment to the self.

It is an annual sacred event and an offering to the public.
