Constitution amendment taskforce to hold consultations with former govt officials

KATHMANDU, May 4: A taskforce formed to prepare a discussion paper on constitutional amendment is set to hold consultations with former heads of constitutional bodies, former chief secretaries, diplomats and retired bureaucrats.



The discussion programme will take place on Tuesday from 3 PM to 5 PM at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, according to the taskforce.

The panel, coordinated by political adviser to Prime Minister Asim Shah, has been tasked with gathering expert input and recommendations on possible constitutional amendments.


Member-secretary Liladhar Subedi said the consultation will collect suggestions from participants regarding areas requiring amendment or reform in the constitution.


The decision to hold consultations with former senior officials, diplomats and administrative experts was taken during a taskforce meeting held on April 23.
