KATHMANDU, April 10: The Constitutional Council meeting held today to recommend the next Chief Justice of the Supreme Court concluded inconclusively.

The meeting could not take the decision to recommend Sushila Karki as the next Chief Justice as Speaker Onsari Gharti could not attend the meeting after being admitted to a hospital following illness, said Minister for Law and Justice, Agni Kharel. The meeting was held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar.

The Council will meet again at 5:30 later this afternoon. It may be noted that incumbent Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha is retiring due to age limit on April 13. Sushila Karki is expected to take over as the senior most judge of the apex court. RSS
