The symposium also saw three parallel sessions where the 17 fellows showcased the project they were required to do as part of their fellowship.
The 2015 summer fellows were divided into three teams—Enterprise Development Star Team, Education Leadership Project, and Inclusion Leadership Project. They were required to develop a project relevant to their group title.
The Enterprise Development Star Team marketed some healthy fruit drinks, jaggery and jelly brought all the way from Gulmi in the symposium. With Minister Pandit as their first customer, they ended up selling all their stocks.
"When we first brought them, we found out that their branding and packaging wasn't up to the mark. So we put the products in better jars and bottles and made them look more attractive. We ended up selling quite a lot," Shaili Ghimire, one of the team members, said.
Vibhav Pradhan, another team member, shared, "Before the fellowship, we weren't aware of the political system and the procedures it inculcated. Now we are far more aware about various issues of our country."
Isha Subedi and her team shared their experience of having improved the library of Shramik Shanti Higher Secondary School in Chyasal, Lalitpur as part of the Education Leadership Project.
"Rather than creating an entire library, which wouldn't have been convenient at the resource level, we thought of improving the existing one in a public school. The kids at Shramik Shanti Higher Secondary School were super excited and it was a beautiful experience," she shared.
