KATHMANDU, July 30: A man was killed after being shot during a clash in Siraha’s Golbazar on Thursday despite a curfew imposed to contain escalating tensions in the area.
The latest death came as security forces intensified efforts to restore order following the killing of a youth in Sunsari’s Kaptanganj on Sunday night.
According to Assistant Chief District Officer Chet Raj Baral, the deceased has been identified as Ganesh Yadav. He was shot after a dispute between two groups escalated into violence despite the curfew, officials said.

Security has since been tightened in Golbazar and surrounding areas, with joint teams of the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army deployed to bring the situation under control.
The local administration has urged residents to strictly comply with the curfew, refrain from spreading or believing rumors, and cooperate with security personnel in maintaining peace and order.
Police said an investigation into the incident is underway.
Meanwhile, the death toll from the recent violence has reached three. Om Prakash Mehta, 24, was killed in the Kaptanganj incident in Sunsari on Sunday night, while Jaya Prakash Gupta, 21, who was injured in the same incident, died from gunshot wounds at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar on Thursday.
Gupta was taken to the hospital for treatment after sustaining injuries in the incident, but doctors declared him dead on Thursday night.
The bodies of Gupta and Mehta have been kept at the hospital.
