Natural Calamities Coordination Committee (NCCC) in the district has started discussion and planning on the the possibility of landslides in the areas that developed cracks and fissures during the earthquakes.Chief District Officer (CDO) Basudev Ghimire informed that they focused on relief distribution for complete three months after the earthquake and spent around Rs 1.25 billion for that. "We have stored needed relief materials keeping in mind possible disasters during the monsoon," said he. Ghimire even added that the required manpower in the time of disaster is also on standby.
Around 63,000 tarpaulins, 1,319 tons of rice, 174 tons of beaten rice, 50 cartons of biscuits, 40 cartons instant noodles, 36 kg salt, 20,000 kg sugar, 33,000 mats, and 43,000 blankets have been distributed in the district, according to the NCCC.
Ghimire informed that all households in the district have received the first round of relief package adding, "The World Food Program (WFP) has been distributing eight kg of rice per person for 20 days."
Around 1,050 families which are at risk after the earthquake have also been shifted to tents. Tents have been erected for them at Sakos, Sunaulo bazaar, Nilkantha, Nalang, Muralibhangyang, Dhola and Salyantar.
There is arrangement of food, drinking water, toilets and healthcare service at the tented settlements. The district administration has informed that there is enough food for the displaced for the next three months.
