"On Thursday, the potassium level in Dr KC's blood was found to have increased and he complained of muscle cramps and chest pain," Suman Acharya, a medical student, said.
He informed that doctors at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) on Friday have supplied him oxygen, after they noticed low oxygen saturation in Dr KC. They have also been providing normal saline to Dr KC as he refused to take glucose saline. Acharya informed that Dr KC's heart beat is irregular. Resident doctors at the Institute of Medicine (IoM) have been monitoring DR KC's health.
Dr KC, who has already staged fast-unto-death five times in the past, has put forward an eight-point demand this time that includes full implementation of the Mathema taskforce's report and other past accords. He has demanded that the cabinet endorse the Mathema taskforce's report and take steps for forming policies to implement it.
Meanwhile, the government said that it has already fulfilled some of the demands put forth by Dr KC and has started discussion to implement the remaining suggestions of the taskforce.
