Although Cyclone Arnab weakened into a strong low-pressure area after entering India, its effects in Nepal, including rainfall, snowfall and storms, have remained relatively limited as the system weakened further while approaching the country, the DHM said.
Dhakal said rainfall and snowfall were likely in many parts of the country this afternoon and tonight.
"Most places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, as well as the high-hill areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, will remain cloudy this afternoon. Moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is possible, while some hilly and mountainous areas may receive snowfall," he said.
The DHM has forecast cloudy conditions across most parts of the country tonight, with moderate rain and snowfall likely in many areas. Some places may experience heavy rainfall and snowfall.
Kavrepalanchowk recorded the highest rainfall in the past 24 hours, receiving 50.2 millimetres, according to the DHM.
