KATHMANDU, Aug 26: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has directed all state agencies to mobilize rescue and relief resources after a major flood swept through the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa, raising concerns about downstream areas.
Following his directive, the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police have been deployed for rescue and relief operations, with additional personnel being sent from other districts as needed.
The government has also mobilized the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority and is coordinating with medical teams, Nepal Scouts and the Red Cross to provide emergency assistance. Additional ambulances and health workers are being sent to affected areas.

Authorities have been instructed to immediately relocate residents in vulnerable downstream settlements to safer locations. Residents in at-risk areas have also been alerted through SMS and phone calls. Those affected or seeking information on relief efforts can contact 1234.
An emergency meeting of the monsoon response command Post is underway at the Ministry of Home Affairs in the presence of Home Minister Sudan Gurung to assess the flood situation and decide on further rescue and security measures.
