Finance Committee, stakeholders discuss NRB Act amendment bill

Officials from the Nepal Bankers' Association and the Confederations of Banks and Financial Institutions Nepal (CBFIN) were invited to the discussions, according to committee secretary Laxman Aryal. Even the representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Nepal Rastra Bank attended the debate.

KATHMANDU, July 19: The Finance Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) Sunday held discussion with representatives from stakeholders concerned on the bill drafted to amend the Nepal Rastra Bank, Act-2058.



Officials from the Nepal Bankers' Association and the Confederations of Banks and Financial Institutions Nepal (CBFIN) were invited to the discussions, according to committee secretary Laxman Aryal. Even the representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Nepal Rastra Bank attended the debate.

The government had registered the bill in the Federal Parliament on June 2. The Finance Ministry has said the bill was designed in a way that contributes to further strengthening the country's monetary and financial systems, making it more reliable and compatible with time.
