Finance Minister and Chinese Ambassador hold discussion on Tokha-Chhare Tunnel

KATHMANDU, April 29: A meeting was held between Finance Minister Dr Prakash Saran Mahat and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song.



In the meeting held on Friday, the issue of the Tokha-Chhare tunnel route entering the construction phase was discussed, according to the Finance Minister's Secretariat.

Similarly, there has been a discussion about making tunnel routes in other hilly areas like Mustang, Rasuwagadhi. According to the secretariat, there was also a discussion about bringing a large number of tourists from China into Nepal.


Minister Mahat said that the assistance received from China will increase Nepal's competitiveness by investing in the infrastructure development sector.


Likewise, in the meeting Chinese Ambassador Song assured that about 80 billion rupees can be provided for the development of Nepal's infrastructure. He also expressed his belief that the maximum amount of assistance provided by the Chinese government will be used in the infrastructure sector.
