The flood swept away the substation at Pairebesi in Kispang Rural Municipality 5, which transmits electricity generated in Nuwakot to Kathmandu, as well as the Trishuli and Devighat hydropower stations. Technical studies will begin today to restore electricity services through the central transmission system, he said.

In Rasuwa, the damaged hydropower projects include the 111 MW Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project, 20 MW Langtang Khola, 120 MW Langtang Bhotekoshi, 22 MW Chilime and the 216 MW under construction Upper Trishuli 1 Hydropower Project.

In Nuwakot, the flood also damaged the 60 MW Upper Trishuli 3A, the 37 MW under construction Upper Trishuli 3B, the 21 MW Trishuli Hydropower Station, the 14 MW Devighat Hydropower Station and the 25 MW solar plant built by the Nepal Electricity Authority.

Thapa said most of these structures have been severely damaged or completely destroyed, and it will take time to bring them back into operation.
