KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Former Chief Justice (CJ) Cholendra Shumsher Rana has been arrested.
The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office reportedly arrested Rana on Sunday. Sources confirmed that he was taken into custody from his residence in Maharajgunj. Further details are awaited.

Rana became chief justice on January 2, 2019 (Poush 17, 2075). An impeachment motion was registered against him on February 13, 2022 (Falgun 1, 2078), following which he was suspended from office.
