After a series of protests, an agreement was signed between Kamlaris and the government on May 18. The struggle committee formed by former Kamlaris has announced to revive their protest programs from five districts in the Tarai if the government does not fulfill their demands by July 7. The announcement was made during a press meet held in Ghorahi on Saturday.[break]

“Several days have passed since the agreement but the government has not taken any initiative so far to address out demands,” said assistant coordinator of the committee, Urmila Chaudhary. “We will finally stage our protests in front of Singha Durbar if our demands are not met,” added Chaudhary. According to the committee, the government has released the arrested Kamalaries and provided treatment expenses to those injured during the protests but has not addressed their other demands. “The government has not addressed any of our demands so far. We will not tolerate this indifference,” said Chaudhary.
