BARA, Aug 25: Police have arrested nine people, including two minors, in connection with the alleged rape and murder of a three-year-old girl in Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-1 of Bara.
The girl was found dead on September 2 in an abandoned house in Bhaktinagar, Jitpur Simara-1. Following the incident, the District Police Office, Bara, registered a case under charges of kidnapping and unlawful confinement, rape and murder and arrested the suspects on different dates.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Min Bahadur Ghale, information officer at the District Police Office, Bara, the suspects are being held in custody for investigation. The Bara District Court initially granted four days of remand and later extended it by another five days.
Police identified those arrested as 24-year-old Pugresh Chaudhary, also known as Progesh, 50-year-old Indrajit Chaudhary, 25-year-old Pushpa Chaudhary, 26-year-old Mamata Chaudhary, 45-year-old Sheikh Hasamuddin Alam, 40-year-old Tek Bahadur Thapa Magar, all from Jitpur Simara-1, and 33-year-old Nabin BK of Ward 2.
Two boys, aged 16 and 14, have also been arrested for their alleged involvement. Since they are minors, police have identified them by the pseudonyms Narbasti ‘A’ and Chhathimai ‘A’.
Police said they are conducting a detailed investigation into the case, examining the suspects’ statements, evidence collected from the crime scene, their communications with one another and the possible involvement of other individuals, given the seriousness of the incident.
