KATHMANDU, Aug 28: GIHE Blue started the 3rd GIHE Football Championship with a 2-0 win over Malpi Institute on Friday.
Nishan Thapa Magar scored the opening goal for the winning team in the 9th minute and Prashaya Shrestha added another goal in the 11th minute, according to a press statement issued by GEMS Institute of Higher Education on Friday.
GIHE Youth Fest at GEMS
The second half didn't produce any goals. Earlier, Secretery at the Youth and Sports Ministry, Dipendra Nath Sharma, inaugurated the tournament.
The event is being organized by GIHE Sports Club in association with Eicher. Altogether 12 teams from 11 higher secondary schools/A-level institutions are participating in the tournament, which will conclude on September 16 at the GEMS Football Ground, Dhapakhel.
