KATHMANDU, Oct 9: The government has dismissed Armed Police Force (APF) Additional Inspector General (AIG) Banshi Raj Dahal from service over repeated violations of conduct, indiscipline and actions that tarnished the reputation and image of the government or the organization he served.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday, the ministry took the departmental action against Dahal, effective from Friday, October 9.

The ministry said the action marked a significant development in the history of the Armed Police Force, as the home minister exercised powers granted under the Armed Police Force Act and Regulations to take departmental action against a senior officer for failing to uphold the standards of conduct expected of his rank and position.
