Govt forms dialogue panel to address Pathibhara cable car dispute

KATHMANDU, June 19: The government has formed a seven-member task force to address the prolonged dispute surrounding the proposed cable car project at Mukumlung Pathibhara, a historical and religious site in Taplejung.



According to a decision taken at the secretary-level meeting of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the task force has been formed under the coordination of social development expert Bishwo Rai.

The committee has been given 15 days to identify the issues related to the cable car project and submit recommendations for resolving the dispute.


The task force includes representatives from all concerned stakeholders, including the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, groups opposing the cable car project, the construction company, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
