KATHMANDU, Aug 27: The government has launched a new online portal allowing Nepalis living abroad and other donors to directly contribute to the government’s disaster relief fund.

Under the new system, donors can make payments using cards, banking apps and digital wallets through the portal PMDRF.NCHL.COM.NP.

The portal has been introduced as rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts continue following the devastating Bhotekoshi floods in Rasuwa and other natural disasters across the country.

The government expects the online system to make it easier for Nepalis abroad and foreign donors to contribute while ensuring that donations are collected and mobilised in a systematic, transparent and effective manner.

The government has urged individuals and organisations wishing to support disaster victims to make contributions through the official channel.
