KATHMANDU, Oct 7: The government is offering technological support worth up to Rs 300,000 to women-led enterprises, aiming to systematically promote women's entrepreneurship, expand financial access, and facilitate technology transfer.
The Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities, and Social Security in this regard has enforced the ‘Procedure for Conducting Entrepreneurship Promotion Programs for Women Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneur Groups—Incorporating Women's Entrepreneurship Development, Financial Access, Support Capital, and Technological Assistance, 2026.’

The new procedure aims to provide necessary machinery, tools, and equipment to women entrepreneurs, upgrade their enterprises, boost production, and foster self-employment.
Under this program, selected individual women entrepreneurs will receive technological support worth up to Rs 200,000, while women entrepreneur groups will receive support of up to Rs 300,000. The program will be implemented in collaboration with provincial and local governments.
The working guideline prioritizes enterprises based on local raw materials and indigenous skills, as well as sectors such as agriculture, livestock farming, handicrafts, tourism, allo and dhaka weaving, and homestays. Special priority will be given to women entrepreneurs from the Haruwa-Charuwa, Kamlahari, Chamar, Dom, Chepang, and Badi communities. Similarly, the government has focused more on single women, survivors of violence, and women who have returned from foreign employment to implement the program.
