Govt's action plan to end power crisis

BIRATNAGAR, March 14: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari on Monday said the government has prepared a work-plan to free the country from the load shedding in the next four years.



“The government has worked out a plan to end energy crisis in the country. This will be forwarded to the parliament within a week,” Adhikari, said addressing an interaction in Biratnagar. [break]



“The implementation will begin once the plan is approved by the parliament.” Adhikari said the action plan prioritizes thermal plant, solar energy, coal and small and large scale hydro electricity projects.



“The government will make preliminary investment for micro hydel projects,” Adhikari added.



He further added that the government was preparing to install solar system inside Singha Durbar - the country´s main administrative zone - and provide subsidies to hydro projects (with capacity less than one mega watt) operated at local level.
