A cabinet meeting held at Prime Minister´s Office in Singha Durbar Wednesday evening has given 10-day deadline to the commission headed by UML lawmaker Bhim Acharya for making necessary suggestions and recommendations. [break]
According to Government Spokesperson Ganga Lal Tuladhar, the commission includes lawmakers Hari Roka, Laxman Ghimire, Chandrika Prasad Yadav, Arjun Rai and Prativa Rana. Former lawmaker Som Prasad Pandey, General Secretary of Consumers´ Rights Protection Forum Jyoti Baniya and Amrit Nakarmi from Kathmandu are also in the panel.
The commission will, among other things, study international price of petroleum products and its impact on financial aspect of the Nepal Oil Corporation and suggest improvements to be made in the management of NOC, said Tuladhar.
Meanwhile, the cabinet meeting has given a nod to the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement negotiated with US Government and decided to send the draft agreement to the Finance Committee, under the cabinet, for further study to bring it into implementation.
Likewise, through separate decisions, the meeting appointed Gopal Prasad Khanal as Vice-chairman of CTEVT for four years, and Rameshwor Man Shrestha as governing board chief of Bharatpur Cancer Hospital. Likewise, the cabinet meeting appointed Purushottam Paudel as political advisor and Nirmal Kumar Bhattarai as Public Relations Advisor to Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal.
