Indian Embassy issues travel advisory for Indians visiting Nepal

KATHMANDU, March 17: Indian Embassy in Nepal has issued a travel advisory to Indians visiting Nepal and suggested not to carry gold ornaments above 50 grams and silver ornaments above 100 grams.

KATHMANDU, March 17: Indian Embassy in Nepal has issued a travel advisory to Indians visiting Nepal and suggested not to carry gold ornaments above 50 grams and silver ornaments above 100 grams.

"Any gold or silver ornament above the limit is liable to be seized as per local law, involving fine or imprisonment or both," stated the Embassy in its travel advisory.


"It may also be noted that in a number of instances, Indian nationals have come to Nepal with gold/silver in excess of the mentioned amount and have faced considerable hardship," advisory read further.
