KATHMANDU, Sept 10: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gauri Kumari Yadav has resigned from her post, submitting her resignation to Prime Minister Balendra Shah on Thursday.
Yadav's resignation comes a day after she sparked controversy with remarks directed at LPG industrialists amid an ongoing cooking gas shortage.

Speaking on Wednesday, the minister accused gas industrialists of failing to coordinate with the government to address the supply crisis and said they should be "taken to court" for their role in the shortage.
Her comments drew sharp criticism from LPG bottlers and industry representatives, who condemned the statement and accused the minister of unfairly targeting the private sector while the country grapples with supply disruptions.
The resignation follows growing pressure on the minister after her remarks triggered a backlash from the gas industry. However, neither Yadav nor the Prime Minister's Office has officially stated whether the controversy directly led to her decision to step down.
